KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A Blythewood man has been accused of driving his motorcycle 58 miles-per-hour over the speed limit during rush hour traffic.

Kirkland Savalas Wright, 20, was arrested Wednesday at about 5:30 p.m. on U.S. 1 in Lugoff. A Kershaw County deputy on patrol noticed two motorcycles speeding over the Wateree River Bridge.

According to Sheriff James Matthews, the first motorcycle was clocked at 60 mph in a 45 mph speed zone. A second motorcycle was clocked traveling 103 mph in the same zone.

The deputy pulled over the second motorcycle, driven by Wright, and arrested him. Matthews says he told the deputy he was going to work when asked why he was driving so fast.

Wright was charged with speeding 26+ mph over the posted limit and taken to the Kershaw County Detention Center, where he posted bond.
