KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A Camden man has been charged with attempted murder for a shooting in which investigators say was over a drug debt.

Liquel Bryant Robinson, 19, is accused of shooting a man on Kings Avenue at Old River Road on August 21. Deputies say the victim was shot in the back.

The victim was treated at the hospital and released about a week later.

Kershaw County Sheriff James Matthews says the victim identified Robinson as the shooter, who claims he was shot because he owed Robinson money for drugs.

Robinson is being held at the Kershaw County Detention Center after his bond request was denied. Matthews says Robinson has previous arrests for drug, traffic and perjury charges.
