Arrests made in Double Branch Road murder case from August

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Two people have been charged in connection with an August homicide in West Columbia.
Roscoe Holmes III, 23, of West Columbia, is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Michael Andy McMillan, 30, on the morning of Aug. 18. He is also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Jakashia Gracie McPherson, 18, of Cayce, is charged with accessory before the fact to murder for talking to Holmes about acquiring a firearm before the shooting, deputies said.
Holmes is due in bond court Friday afternoon.
Investigators were called to the 1600 block of Double Branch Road, where a McMillan's body was found. Capt. Adam Myrick previously said the incident was initially reported as a suspicious vehicle earlier that morning. The address is West Columbia but it's in the jurisdiction of the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.
A resident who called 911 told WIS she noticed a cab running with the lights on, engine running and a man sitting in the driver's seat at about 1:45 a.m. Aug. 18. It was parked in front of a house the witness said had been vacant for months.
A taxi cab was towed from the scene. Blue Ribbon Taxi Cab of Columbia confirmed McMillan as one of their drivers, but was not sure if he was on the clock at the time of his death.
Lexington County investigators found evidence that connected Holmes to the scene of the crime and to McMillan.
Holmes and McPherson are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
Lexington County Sheriff's Department is still investigating McMillan's death.
