RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - An overnight fire destroyed a Northeast Richland County home Tuesday.

Columbia Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins said they were called to the home on Indigo Springs Drive in the Summit around 2:30 Tuesday morning. When firefighters arrived, more than half the home was engulfed in flames.

Houses on both sides were damaged from heat and flames, but neighbors helped each other out of those homes while the neighborhood gathered to watch crews work.

"We saw exactly into the house," said Nicholas Clark. "From my house, you could see their living room. You can see the firefighters in the front. That's how visual it is. The whole back side of the house is gone."

It took some time for firefighters to make it safe to enter the house and check for possible victims. Nobody was found.

A cause has not yet been determined.
