Police searching for suspect, witness after Cayce armed robbery
CAYCE, SC (WIS) - Police are asking for help identifying a suspect, witness and vehicle after an armed robbery at the BI-LO in Cayce on Monday.
The Cayce Department of Public Safety said the suspect ended the grocery store at 2453 Charleston Highway at about 10:15 p.m. He is described as a black male wearing a gray hoodie and dark blue sweat pants or athletic pants. He also had a dark ski mask covering a portion of his face.
Police said the witness was present at the time of the robbery, but left in a vehicle prior to speaking to police. Officers want to speak to the witness about the crime.
"We are taking this matter very seriously because the safety of our customers and associates is our highest priority," said Zack Bingham, senior director of communications for BI-LO. "We are grateful that no one was injured in this incident. We are fully cooperating with Cayce Public Safety and the Lexington County Sheriff's Department in their investigation and thank them for their quick response and ongoing efforts."
