Lexington deputies search for bank robbery suspect

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A bank in Lexington was robbed Tuesday evening and deputies are still searching for a suspect.

The BB&T bank, located at 1120 S. Lake Drive, was robbed close to 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to a spokesman with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department. Deputies say it is not known if a weapon was used, and no injuries were reported.

The suspect got away with an undetermined amount of money.

Deputies say they are still searching for the robber, who is described as being a white male in his 40s, wearing a blue bandana around his head. He fled into the woods behind the bank, according to deputies. A K-9 team searched for the suspect, but did not locate him.

Surveillance video from the robbery is still being viewed by investigators.
