COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Former Gamecock and current Houston Texan Jadeveon Clowney is getting into the vaping business with a new shop in Columbia.

Clowney, along with former SC representative Bakari Sellers and Ken and Cindy Long of Long's Pharmacy, have teamed up to open KURE Columbia Vaporium and Lounge on Gervais Street in the Vista.

Clowney said his mother was a smoker and he believes the e-cigarette business will be a healthier alternative for smokers.

"She's doing better with it," Clowney said when asked if his mother has stopped smoking. "I won't say she's kicked it all the way. She's got a couple of flavors she likes."

Ten dollars will get you into the grand opening event on July 19. In return you'll get a $10 gift card to Twin Peaks, which is a few doors down from the new shop. Those who purchase a $35 pre-sale package will be able to take a photo with Clowney and will get a 30 ml bottle of his signature e-juice liquid called Clowney's Hit, which is sold in a specially-designed bottle.

A portion of every bottle sold benefits The Jadeveon Clowney Help-In-Time Foundation which assists local children of incarcerated parents.

The opening night event is scheduled for 7:30-10:30 p.m. at 620 B Gervais Street. Tickets can be purchased here.
