COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Columbia Police Department continues to investigate following a bizarre ending to a case involving a man who allegedly robbed a Rite Aid on Garners Ferry Road back on June 16.

According to police, the suspect in that case was found dead on Old Davidson Road the next day near the Huntington Place apartment complex.

Someone at the complex located the man's body and called 911.

Police now say the man, who has not yet been identified by the coroner's office, walked into the Rite Aid, threatened a clerk, and stole money before fleeing the scene.

There's no word on when the coroner's office plans to identify the man.
