KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Wrestling fans in Kershaw County braved the heat for a chance to meet famed wrestler and Kershaw County resident "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan Saturday afternoon.
The WWE Hall of Fame wrestler sat outside Camden's Chick-Fil-A signing autographs in hopes of raising money for the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit. Duggan says he was raised in a law enforcement family and he's also been moved by stories of K-9's catching criminals and finding missing children.
"It's been a great crowd. We've had a steady crowd, but they're kind of quiet in here. Let's go…. Ohhhhhh. Sounds like a library in here. I don't know honey," Duggan said.
The event raised $1,100 in donations. Every cent will help K-9 related costs such as the recent surgery to save the department's 6-year-old German Shepherd named Mali.
