Sumter police seek two men in jewelry store heist

SUMTER, SC (WIS) - The Sumter Police Department is searching for two men who they say robbed a jewelry store Monday.

Officials say the store was robbed at about 4:45 p.m. on Monday when two men with a gun came into the store manned by four employees and demanded money. Officials say the men also demanded the employees' personal belongings including jewelry, wallets, and purses.

The men also took an undetermined amount of jewelry from the store before heading toward Sumter Mall on foot.

Police are not sure if a getaway vehicle was involved.

No injuries were reported from the incident.

One of the two men is described as wearing black shorts and a black shirt. He weighs between 200 and 215 pounds and stands between 5-11 and six feet tall.

The second man stands about 5-foot-6 and weighs about 165 pounds.

Both men are between 25 and 35 years old. Surveillance photos of the men are attached to this story.
