KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Changes are coming to Kershaw County roads and sidewalks, but the county needs your help to get it done.
County leaders now plan to air out their plans and ask for input next week. A design team is helping the county study the West Wateree area, mainly Lugoff and Elgin, to figure out how they can improve transportation for everyone. The project's been in the works for more than a year.
Eat Smart, Move More did a similar study a couple years back and found out there was an extreme need for walking paths and bike lanes.
"The other issue was to provide safeway from one place to another," said Shawn Putnam, Camden City Planner. "So if it's a residential area that needed to be connected to a school or a park, those were the priorities that we got from the surveys."
To find out more, you can attend a public informational meeting at Elgin Town Hall on May 19.
