RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The Richland County Sheriff's Department says alert citizens led to the arrest of an accused drug dealer.
Responding to reports of drug activity in the Starlight community, officers on patrol with the Sheriff's Department's Community Action Team noticed William Watson throw a handgun on the ground and try to run off. This happened on Thursday, April 21 on Candlelite Drive.
After running after Watson, deputies arrested him. When they searched Watson, deputies say they found a large quantity of marijuana packaged for sale and $466 in cash.
Watson is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and unlawful carry of a pistol. He was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
