KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office says a deputy pulled over two drivers timed at speeds more than 100 miles per hour last week.

The Sheriff's Office says at about 12:45 p.m. last Thursday, a deputy monitoring traffic on Interstate 20 noticed two vehicles traveling eastbound "at a high rate of speed."

Before the deputy managed to pull the cars over, the Sheriff's Office says the vehicles were timed going 134 and 124 miles per hour.

Willie Traynham, 37, of Myrtle Beach, and Angel Rosado, 21, of Augusta, GA, were charged with speeding. Traynham also was charged with not having a valid driver's license.

Because of the speed at which they were driving, both men were transported to the Kershaw County Detention Center where they posted bond and were later released.

Deputies say both men said they were speeding because "they were just trying to get home."

"The speed at which many people travel is frequently excessive, but these two men took excessive speeding to an extremely dangerous and reckless level," said Sheriff Jim Matthews.
