RCSD: Students thwart potential shooting at Keenan High

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - An 18-year-old woman has been arrested after threatening students and being found at Keenan High School with a gun.

According to Lt. Curtis Wilson of the Richland County Sheriff's Department, students at Keenan were threatened by 18-year-old Delijah Robinson. The threats were reported to the school's resource officer at about 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Wilson says the officer was presented with several threatening messages from the victims' phone sent from Robinson's phone. Authorities say Robinson and the victim were acquaintances who were involved in a dispute.

Wilson says the messages were sent to one student, but there could have potentially been more than one victim.

Robinson was later confronted by the resource officer in the school's parking lot. There, deputies found a gun in the front passenger seat of the car.

Robinson has been charged with unlawful use of a telephone, having a weapon on school grounds and unlawful possession of a weapon. She was taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center following the arrest.
