SUMTER, SC (WIS) - A crash in Sumter caused a power outage and closures of three intersections Thursday morning. Sumter Police say the crash took out a power pole at Lafayette Drive and North Main Street.

According to the a post on the Sumter Police Department's Facebook page, the following intersections are closed to traffic:

  • North Main at Copeland (all north bound)
  • North Lafayette at Copeland (all north bound)
  • E. Moore St. and N. Lafayette (all west bound)
  • W. Moore St. and N. Main (all East bound)
  • Polus and N. Main (all east bound)
  • N. Main and S. Pike (all south bound)

Power crews are at the scene to replace the pole and restore service, but police say it could be several hours before the problem is corrected.

Drivers should find alternate routes.
