RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - SCE&G says a fire on a power pole caused about 3,000 customers near Columbia to lose power overnight.

The outage was reported in Northeast Richland County, in the Summit and Lake Carolina neighborhoods. It took less than two hours for power to be restored.

The lack of power caused some inconvenience for customers on a morning with temperatures at least ten degrees below freezing.

SCE&G officials are investigating what caused the fire.
