COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Columbia Police Department is investigating a robbery at a bank on Garners Ferry Road Wednesday afternoon.

The holdup happened around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wells Fargo Bank near the intersection of Garners Ferry Road and Rosewood Drive. Officers say a man allegedly demanded money and threatened a clerk by indicating he was armed with a gun.

The suspect is described as possibly being white or Asian and was last seen wearing black pants and a black and gray sweatshirt or hoodie.

Officers say that the man initially walked into the bank without disguising his face, but put on the mask once he got to the counter.

Although there were other staff and customers inside the bank, no one was injured during the robbery.

CPD has released the surveillance photos and asks anyone who may recognize the man in the pictures to contact CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
