LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Corley Mill Road in Lexington County has been reopened, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

The road was closed last week due to a possible breach in a low hazard dam between Mill Stream Road and Bluff High School. A detour was in place on U.S. 378 and sheriff's deputies were helping with traffic control near the school.

SCDOT said Sunday morning that conditions were evaluated along Corley Mill Road and the barricades were removed as of 8:45 a.m.

Department of Health and Environmental Control officials requested the road closure Thursday night until a thorough inspection could be conducted in the daylight. Inspectors were at the dam Friday morning.

According to SCDOT, the dam posed no threat to the area except for the flooding of Corley Mill Road.
