List of shelters opened for people escaping flood

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Here is a list of shelters that have been opened throughout the Midlands:

Lexington County:

  • Lexington County Leisure Center, 108 Park Road, Lexington
  • Seven Oaks Park, 200 Leisure Lane, Columbia

(Both shelters are pet-friendly. However, pet owners are encouraged to bring crates for the pets and, at minimum, all pets are expected to be on a leash. Owners should ensure they have proof of up to date inoculations (shots), adequate food supply and supplies to clean up after their pet.)

Richland County:

  • A.C. Flora High School, 1 Falcon Drive, Columbia
  • St. Andrews Baptist Church, 230 Bush River Road, Columbia

Newberry County:

  • Newberry High School

Kershaw County:

  • Camden High School

Sumter County:

  • Sumter High School
  • Birnie Hope Center, 210 S. Purdy Street

Clarendon County:

  • Manning High School, Manning
  • Scotts Branch High School, 9253 Alex Harvin Hwy, Summerton

Orangeburg County:

  • Bowman-Bethune Middle/High School, Charleston Highway
