SUMTER COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A GPS tracking device helped Sumter County Sheriff's deputies find stolen equipment and they arrested a man who they say owned the property where it was found.

An employee of High Hills Rural Water reported a dump truck, backhoe and trailer were missing from the rear of the business Monday. Deputies say the employee told deputies the truck had a GPS tracking device on it and provided them with a map of its current location.

When deputies checked the wooded area off Peach Orchard Road in Dalzell where the GPS indicated the truck's location, investigators say they found all three pieces of stolen equipment.

Shaw Douglas Custer, 43, who owns the property, was arrested Tuesday on charges of receiving stolen goods.
