LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Emergency crews have cleared the scene of a tanker fire on Interstate 77 near Interstate 26 in Lexington County and traffic is back to normal.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the fire was reported at about 6:47 on Northbound 77 near the Interstate 26 split.

All lanes of I-77 are open and the tanker was left on the side of the highway.

Preliminary reports say the tanker is filled with liquid latex. Trooper David Jones with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the fire started with a vehicle defect: a tire or wheel caught fire.

The fire is out and emergency crews have left the scene. Traffic is flowing in all directions on Interstate 77 and Interstate 26.

No injuries were reported.
