COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A Columbia pastor charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest Thursday is due in court in November.

Anthony A. Dicks, Sr., 59, was arrested after he assaulted a woman after an argument at a home on Colonial Drive on Wednesday, said Jennifer Timmons with the Columbia Police Department.

The woman told police they were in an argument before Dicks assaulted her, Timmons said.

Bond was set at a little more than $6,000 at a hearing Friday morning. He was ordered to avoid contact with the alleged victim.

Dicks was ordained in 1974 and in 1982, he became pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, according to the church's website.

Dicks was transported to Alvin D. Glenn Detention Center.

Dicks is due back in court on November 18 at 8 a.m.
