What are the SC towns and cities with the most paid activity on Ashley Madison?
COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - South Carolina-based users of Ashley Madison, the website that facilitates cheating for wayward spouses, spent almost $2.29 million on the website's services, according to a data analysis from a local IT expert.
Jim Salter, who is also a cybersecurity analyst, aided us in our efforts to learn more about the hack that exposed the profiles of more than 39 million members who signed up for an account under the website.
The alleged data shows credit card transactions, e-mail addresses, and even names of those who signed up and spent money for services, including full memberships and features to "fully delete" profile information.
The data we used is based on those who paid for a service on the website. In all, 12,645 South Carolina residents paid for a service on the website.
The data was leaked several weeks ago by a hacker group calling themselves the "Impact Team." Since then, there have been several alleged suicides and multiple lawsuits filed against the website.
