RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Get excited Midlands shoppers. Warehouse retailer Costco Wholesale could be heading to the Harbison area.

Costco's plans are currently being reviewed by Richland County staff. Should the store be approved, it will be located at 507 Piney Grove Road where it intersects with Fernandina Road.

Costco’s original plans, submitted in April 2015, were denied because they did not fully comply with the County’s Land Development Code. The company’s revised plans were submitted earlier week. Those plans are currently being reviewed by the County’s Planning and Public Works Departments.

The county says if Costco's revised plans meet all County requirements, they will be approved. From there, Costco can start the development process.

The timeframe for the review process is 17 days or less.
