COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - South Carolinians have donated close to $1.5 million to 2016 presidential candidates, and more than half of those donations have gone to native son Sen. Lindsey Graham.
Graham received a total of $858,079.95 in donations statewide before June 30, according to data from the Federal Election Commission.
Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton received the second highest amount of campaign funds, but still took in less than a third of what Graham received. Clinton collected $237,800.10.
FEC records show donations to candidates ran the gamut from $1 to the $2,700, the maximum amount allowed for individual donations.
According to the data, some candidates have received little to no donations in the state so far.
Republican candidates Rick Perry and Bobby Jindal each only received a single donation before June 30.
Democrats Lincoln Chafee and Jim Webb received no donations, as did Republican candidate Donald Trump. However, records from the FEC show Trump is not soliciting donations, and is instead financing his own campaign.
