July 4th Salute from the Shore being held again on SC coast

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - The Salute from the Shore is being held for a sixth consecutive year along the South Carolina coast this Independence Day.

During the event F-16s from Shaw Air Force Base as well as vintage World War II aircraft are flying the length of the coast from Cherry Grove in North Myrtle Beach south to Hilton Head Island.

The planes shoot video of those gathered on the beaches are beachgoers are urged to wave flags as the aircraft pass. The flights begin at 1 p.m.

The video of the flyby as well as video captured on the shore will be posted online.
