SUMTER, SC (WIS) - A 50-year-old man has been arrested for illegally selling liquor and beer out of a storage shed at his home in Sumter over the weekend.
Detectives had been investigating the home for the past several months after receiving complaints, Sumter police said.
Detectives made several purchases on Sundays before obtaining a warrant and searching the shed at 101 Chandler St. at 11 a.m. Sunday.
About 17 people were at the residence when detectives and patrol officers arrived. Some 1,157 cans of beer and 172 bottles of liquor were seized.
Kevin Eugene Prince, 50, was arrested and is being held in the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center. Prince is charged with unlawful storage or possession of alcoholic liquor and operation of a retail business without a license.
