ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office needs the community's assistance in locating two men who robbed a local convenience store last month.

According to Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell, two gunmen held a Cope store clerk at gunpoint on May 18 while demanding she turn over money from the register.

Deputies were called to the Cope store located about 14 miles southwest of Orangeburg on Bamberg Highway just after 9 p.m. when a store clerk reported a robbery.

Officials say a man wearing a mask similar to that in the movie "Scream" charged into the business pointing a handgun at the clerk. The clerk then turned over a undisclosed amount of money.

A second subject with a larger build stood by the door but did not enter.

"We're asking that if anyone has any information on these two individuals that they call us," the sheriff said. "Although she was very upset, we're thankful the store employee wasn't hurt in this incident."

Security video captures the two suspects as they run toward the store, then one pointing a small handgun at the clerk as he enters. The two then run back across the property toward nearby Snake Swamp Road.

Anyone with information related to this crime or the identity of the individuals are asked to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
