SUMTER COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The Sumter County Sheriff's Department says an overnight shooting was accidental.

Investigators were called to a home on Connector Road where there was a report of one person shot just after 11:30 Tuesday night. Braden Bunch from the Sheriff's Office says it appears a 31-year-old man accidentally shot himself in both legs.

He was taken to the hospital with what investigators say are injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

Deputies charged Mark Floyd, 31, with unlawful possession of a firearm in connection with the shooting. Floyd was not the man who was shot.

Deputies continue to investigate.
