RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is asking for the community's help to find a man wanted for bank robberies that took place near Interstate 20 in three states.

Lott said his investigators are working to catch a man who robbed the Wells Fargo Bank on Two Notch Road on Tuesday morning. Authorities believe the same person robbed a bank in Alabama in January and possibly another in Georgia. Richland County is working with agencies in those areas to determine a connection.

Just before 10:00 a.m., the man walked into the bank and handed a teller a note telling her to stay calm and threatening to kill her. He then showed her a gun and demanded that the victim give him money from the cash drawer. When he got the cash, he walked out of the bank and drove away in a U-Haul truck. The confrontation was caught on surveillance video.

Investigators believe the same man robbed a different Wells Fargo Bank on Two Notch road in October.

The sheriff hopes the release of still images from the video will help track him down.

The robber is described as a black male, heavy set, wearing black slacks, a black polo style collar shirt, a black baseball cap and dark shoes

If you know where the man in the images may be or anything about the robbery, you are urged to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. Your information could get you a cash reward.
