Police release photo of suspected jewelry store robbers

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Columbia police are investigating an armed robbery of a downtown jewelry store Thursday morning.

Police say two people robbed the Sylvan's Jewelers on Main Street just before 11 a.m.

One of the robbers stole several expensive watches from a jewelry case, while the other threatened employees with a gun before leaving the store.

The suspected getaway car is a dark-colored, older model 4-door Oldsmobile with tinted windows.

Investigators believe there was at least one other person inside the car at the time of the crime.

Several employees were inside at the time, though no one was injured.

Police have not released any other information describing the robbers.
