ELGIN, SC (WIS) - Richland County Sheriff's investigators have tracked down the owner of a vehicle seen outside and Elgin home that was the scene of a double homicide in December, and the owner of the truck has been cleared.

The bodies of two men were found in a home on Archer Avenue in Elgin on December 26th. Lawrence says an acquaintance came by the residence at around 9 p.m. and found the bodies. Paramedics arrived and tried to perform CPR, but the victims were pronounced dead on the scene.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says 55-year-old Tyrone Richardson and 28-year-old Mark Cox died as a result of gunshot wounds to the upper torso.

Witnesses told Richland County deputies that a red pickup truck with white paws on the tailgate was at the residence. Witnesses also say the truck is believed to frequent the Pontiac area as well as Lugoff and Elgin.

On January 13, Lt. Curtis Wilson said, "The owner of the truck has been cleared for the moment." Investigators continue to search for the people responsible.
