75-year-old man found dead with 'extensive injuries' inside home

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with a man's beating death on Tyler Road on Monday night.

Deputies arrested Willie Lee Miller and charged him with murder and robbery.

According to the sheriff's office, Miller entered the home of 75-year-old Clifford Herring, bludgeoned him to death with a piece of asphalt, and made off with Herring's cell phone, pistol, and his wallet.

Herring was found dead in his home at about 8:30 a.m. on Monday. The sheriff's office says Miller had "extensive injuries."
