RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Pineview Drive is back open after a propane truck overturned Tuesday morning.
Pineview was closed for more than four hours between Shop Road and Garners Ferry Road. The crash occurred at about 9 a.m. when the truck collided with a sedan. The driver of the sedan had to be removed from the vehicle by rescue crews.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital where their conditions have not been released.
The Columbia Fire Department says four businesses were evacuated near the crash scene.Other nearby businesses were told to shelter in place. People were allowed to leave the area, but nobody was allowed in.
Columbia Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins says the 2,600-gallon tanker truck was about 85% full at the time of the crash. Crews had to put water on the leaking vapors so they wouldn't ignite.
After crews cleared the scene, the road reopened around 1:30 p.m.
