(Columbiana, Alabama-AP) Dec. 22, 2004 - An Alabama man convicted of killing his wife was arrested Wednesday in South Carolina after more than four years as a fugitive.
Authorities say Jerry Lee Bowen, 56, of Shelby County, Alabama, was arrested without incident at a residence in North Charleston.
Authorities say Bowen has been on the run since his April 2000 conviction for the murder of 44-year-old Brenda Breckenridge Bowen. Her bound body was found in the Coosa River about two months after her January 1997 disappearance.
Shelby County Sheriff Chris Curry says a tip led US Marshals and FBI agents to Jerry Bowen.
Bowen had been profiled on the television show, "America's Most Wanted."
