COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - It was quite the Sunday for University of South Carolina student and Medal of Honor recipient, retired U.S. Marine Corporal Kyle Carpenter.
He and eleven other parachutists took park in a tandem skydive to deliver a 78 hundred square foot American flag at the Marine Corps Marathon in Arlington, VA.
Carpenter received the Medal of Honor for saving a fellow Marine during the Global War of Terrorism.
After his dive, he took part in his second consecutive Marine Corp Marathon along with hundreds of marathoners participating with the Semper Fi Fund.
Carpenter finished the marathon with a time of 5 hours and twelve minutes.
