Chicken coop at poultry farm damaged in fire

BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, SC (WIS) - A building on a poultry farm near Batesburg was damaged in a fire Saturday morning.

Fire officials responded to the farm on Holder Rd and found a poultry building engulfed in flames.

Fire crews from Sandy Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, Lexington County Fire Service and Monetta Volunteer Fire and Rescue were able to contain the fire to one building.

The building was vacant and no chickens were killed, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
