BISHOPVILLE, SC (WIS) - On the day authorities found the body of a missing 17-year-old, six people charged for a related murder appeared in court for bond hearings.

Lee County Sheriff Daniel Simon announced Tuesday the body of Shakez Bracey was found a short distance from the home of another teenager who was killed over the weekend. Investigators say Bracey was shot in the head.

According to Simon, the body was discovered at 2 p.m. Tuesday off English Road in a wooded area just off the wood line, not far from Dontrell Fortune's home in Bishopville. Fortune was found dead in an SUV over the weekend.

Three arrests have been made in Bracey's murder. Fortune's 16-year-old brother Markel Fortune, 16-year-old cousin Darron Fortune, and 18-year-old Ozhane Simon have all been arrested and charged with murder. Markel and Darron Fortune will be tried as adults.

Simon says Dontrell Fortune shot Bracey around 10 p.m. on Friday night and told Kelvon Goodman, Davon McFadden, Kevin White, and Sunallah Liles that Bracey was "messing with his money."
Officials say the suspects retaliated and shot Fortune on Saturday morning. According to Simon, Dontrell and Bracey were riding in a car together with Markel, Darron and Ozhane Simon on Friday night.

All six people charged in the death of Fortune appeared in bond court Tuesday.

"I didn't kill nobody," McFadden said in court.

Simon says Fortune is Bracey's first cousin.

"He wasn't a perfect kid but he was a good kid," said Fortune's mother, Shanna. "He had a nice good heart. If you needed something, he'd give it to you. And he loved his brothers and sisters, all of them."

"I seen something I never want to see in my life again," said Fortune's father, Mike Carter. "Seeing my son with a gunshot through his head. Very devastating, especially for me."

Bond was denied for the four young men. The judge set bond at $10,000 cash for Sarah Wright Goodman, 48, and Kelvon Goodman's girlfriend, Gewanna Burton.

WIS looked into the criminal records of those who are charged in this crime. 48-year-old Sarah Goodman is accused of trying to help the teens escape police custody. She is charged with accessory after the fact of murder. Goodman's rap sheet starts almost 30 years ago with assault and battery. Since then she's also been arrested for fraudulent checks, driving under suspension and harassment.

18-year-old Kelvon Goodman was first arrested in April of this year for drug possession. In August, he was charged with breaking into cars, selling drugs near a school, pointing and presenting a firearm and selling a stolen gun. Now, he's charged with murder.

18-year-old Kevin White is also charged with murder. He was arrested in April of last year for drug possession and malicious injury to property.

Lee Central High will have homecoming festivities this weekend. Fortune's funeral will take place there on Saturday.
