ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) - A man working at an Orangeburg pizza restaurant was struck by lightning inside the establishment at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the (Orangeburg) Times and Democrat, the Domino's Pizza employee was standing behind the counter when a bolt of lightning came from behind a nearby auto servicing center on Magnolia Street.

The bolt of lightning hit a metal utility pole in front of the restaurant and came through the front door of the restaurant.

"He got a big burn mark on his left arm," Domino's driver Neil Fogle said. "He is lucky he did not go down."

Fogle says that his co-worker's speech was slurred and the bolt "made his hair spike up."

No customers were in the restaurant at the time of the incident. The employee was taken to a local hospital to receive medical attention.
