COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Richland County arson investigators are looking into three suspicious fires in Columbia.

The fires all happened after 11 p.m. Friday.

Someone flagged down a deputy to tell them about a fire at a business on Broad River Road.

While at that fire, crews noticed another fire in the woods off Huffstetler Drive. The third fire was on Saint Andrews Road.

"Because of the fact of where they were located just a bunch of twigs and weeds and things of that nature that were set on fire," said Lt. Curtis Wilson with the Richland County Sheriff's Department. "That's suspicious in nature, that's why we're looking, trying to determine exactly who may be responsible for causing such a thing."

Columbia's fire chief, and the Richland County Fire Marshal are also investigating.
