Sumter police looking for robbery suspect

SUMTER, SC (WIS) - Detectives are looking for a man who robbed a Liberty Street convenience store Saturday afternoon in Sumter.

The robbery happened shortly before 3 p.m. at the Kangaroo on West Liberty Street.

Police say an unknown man entered the store and then covered his face before going behind the counter and telling the clerk to open the cash register.

An undetermined amount of money was taken before the man fled on foot headed east.

No one was injured in the incident.

Police are looking for a black male, between 40 and 50 years old.

He was wearing white shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.
