Deputies find marijuana plants growing in couple's garden

SUMTER, SC (WIS) - Three people have been arrested after the Sumter County Sheriff's Office found several marijuana plants in a garden at their home on July 8.

Deputies with the Sumter County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit went to a home on Shetland Street in Sumter and discovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and plants in the back of the home.

Melinda Stone Parrott, 51, Walter Parrott, 64, and Benjamin McCall, 53, were then taken into custody.

The Sumter County Sheriff's Narcotics unit was in the department's airplane when they spotted the marijuana plants growing at the residence.

Police also found several bags of marijuana as well as other narcotics in the house.
