Richland County Sheriff's Department seeks help in identifying suspect

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Richland County Sheriff's Department needs your help in identifying an armed robbery suspect.

According to Sheriff Leon Lott, the incident being investigated took place at a convenience store on Forest Drive around 6 a.m. on May 26.

Lott noted that the suspect entered the store, presented a gun and demanded that the employee open the cash register. The suspect stole the cash and fled the area.

Authorities describe the suspect as a black male, wearing a white and green striped shirt, dark jeans, lime green tennis shoes, a ball cap, and a scarf covering his face.

A $1,000 reward will be given leading to the arrest of the persons responsible. Citizens are urged to submit their anonymous tips to CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC (1-888-274-6372).
