Sheriff warns of rash of car break-ins in several areas

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Richland County investigators need help in identifying two men they say are behind a rash of car break-ins in several neighborhoods.

Investigators say the first several incidents took place in April in the Club Cottages Community, Longtown Estates, and the Hollyridge Community.

The most recent break-ins occurred at the Windemere Community on May 13 between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.

Officials say the suspects are targeting purses, golf clubs, golf bags, guns, cash, sunglasses, and electronics.

So far, Richland County deputies have reported at least six break-ins.

Investigators believe the incidents are connected to at least two suspects. While deputies do not have a positive identification for the suspects, they have released descriptions of the men.

Suspect one is described as 6-feet tall, wearing a light solid colored jump suit with a hoodie and tennis shoes.

Suspect two is described as about 6-feet tall with dark sweat pants and dark sweat shirt/hoodie.
