COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A busy fast food restaurant near the heart of the University of South Carolina campus is shutting down for two-and-a-half months for a facelift.
Construction crews began tearing down a portion of the Wendy's on Assembly Street Tuesday in preparation for a partial renovation, according to project manager at the site.
Plans for the building include a renovation of the front of the building, but not a complete tear down.
However, the Director of Communications the Wendy's Corporation, Kitty Munger, says "According to my research, a brand- new Wendy's will be built at this location."
Originally, the job was supposed to take place during the summer months and be completed by the time students returned for fall semester. However, delays pushed the project into December.
The project is slated to take 10 weeks.
