COLUMBIA, SC (WIS)- The deadline to raise money to turn a Cayce water tank into a South Carolina landmark is this Friday.

The group Public Works of HeART has been leading the efforts to create a Gamecock Mural on the ETMF water tank on Highway 321 in Cayce into a work of art.

Will Bryan, the founder of Public Works of HeART, says of the 10,000 squares they set out to sell there are 3,800 left.

Bryan says they have to sell the remaining squares by this Friday, November 1st in order for them to begin painting the mural before the tank has to be turned back on in January.

Each square costs $25 and all donors will have their name placed on a plaque at the base of the water tower when it is finished. Five dollars of each square will be donated to Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Bryan sat down with News 10's Mary King on Sunrise this morning to share more about the project and when they hope to complete the mural.
