COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A Columbia man was arrested over the weekend after he ran into the back of an occupied police car and fled the scene, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers say 55-year-old Jeffrey Tanskley hit the back of a Columbia Police Department patrol vehicle on Main Street near Scott Street Saturday afternoon.
Tanskley left the scene, but was arrested shortly after the collision, troopers said.
A Columbia Police Department spokesperson says the officer was not injured, but was transported to an area hospital as a precaution.
Tanskley was charged with driving under the influence by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Both the police officer and Tanskley were wearing seatbelts.
