COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Gabbiee Swainson died from asphyxiation, according to court documents.

An indictment for murder signed by Fifth Circuit Solicitor Dan Johnson reads: "That Freddie Grant did in Richland County on or about August 18, 2012, willfully, feloniously, and intentionally kill the victim, Gabrielle Swainson, with malice aforethought, either express or implied, by means of asphyxiation, and the victim did die as a proximate result thereof.

The Ridge View High School teen was missing for nearly a year. Her suspected killer, 53-year-old Freddie Grant, led investigators to her body in rural Kershaw County last Thursday.

Family and friends of Gabbiee have scheduled memorials in her memory. A candlelight vigil will be held in Elgin Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. It's at the Town Hall on Main Street.

Her funeral is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 18. -- exactly one year after Gabbiee's disappearance. That will take place at Right Direction Church International on Broad River Road at 6 p.m.
