COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Police say one person died after three people were shot at a home in southeast Columbia early Thursday morning.

The Columbia Police Department says it happened around 1 a.m. when a group of suspects tried to commit a robbery at the home on Springway Drive off Garners Ferry Road.

Police say one person who was shot may be a suspect.

The Richland County Coroner's Office identified the deceased as 21-year-old Jarrett D. Jackson. An autopsy conducted shows Jackson died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators are still gathering information.

We're told the others wounded are expected to be ok, but this is not the first time the home has been robbed.

Less than a month ago, CPD got a report of a break-in at the same address. According to that report, there was a burglary and armed robbery on July 12. The victim told police four people broke into the house, trashed the place, demanded money, and stole a car, but not before hitting the victim in the head with a gun.

It's unclear if anyone has been arrested for that crime, now people are looking for help finding leads that could lead them to the people responsible for last night's shooting.

If you know anything that can help them, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
