CPD: Suspicious item was unattended FedEx package

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Columbia Police say an unattended FedEx package caused them to shut down a portion of Main Street near the State House.

CPD closed the 1200 block of Main Street between Gervais Street and Lady Street so the bomb squad could investigate the package.

Witnesses say the item was left on the sidewalk near a row of cars.

CPD did not reveal what was inside the package that caused a traffic headache for several hours.

No one was injured.
